Palm Health is hiring an experience cardiothoracic physician assistant for a locum contract in Michigan!

What schedule? 7 on 7 off – or 3-4 10-12 hour shifts per week! Located just an hour outside of Detroit! This will be a full time ongoing assignment with a 3-6 month contract to start with a strong possibility of extending!

70% in Cardiovascular Operating Room; 30% on floor/clinic

Full-time; 8/10/12 hour shifts (OR and post-acute); split call with another APP; rotating weekends; on call for surgery backup (approximately 6 calls per year);

Call Schedule/Responsibilities: Call ratio 1:2 or 1:3; weekends rotated with another APP

 Patients per Day/Volume: 16 for daily census; monthly census includes approximately 12.5 CABG, 4 valve replace/repair, 6 TAVRs, and 1 thoracic aneurysm or dissection repair; average daily census in CVICU/SD is 4-5 patients

 ◊ Type of Patients/Cases: Adults requiring cardiac surgery, open heart surgery, post-operative management, endoscopic vein harvest (first assist) for CABG and valve repair/replace, TAVR

 ◊ Procedures/Cases Required: CABG, valve replacement/repair, TAVR, thoracic aneurysm or dissection repair

 ◊ Support Staff: 4 CVOR nurses, 2 perfusionists, 2 NPs, 2 Surgical FA PAs, and 2 surgeons

 ◊ EMR: EPIC

 ◊ Certifications/Qualifications Required: ACLS
